Don’t fall for this scam!

Domain Registration Service SEO Company is one of the more annoying companies that makes its money by trolling unsuspecting website owners.

The scam goes like this:

1. They look up publicly-available information, specifically the expiration date, name and email address associated with a domain name. YOUR domain name.

2. If the expiration date is within 30-90 days, they contact you, letting you know that it is time to renew your domain name, which is nothing short of an attempt trick you. They want you to think that you must respond to them, else lose your domain name and search rankings.

3. If you fall for it, then you effectively sign a contract which transfers the domain registration AWAY from your actual registrar, making THEM your new registrar.

4. Let the gouging begin. A normal domain name costs less than $15/year with most any registrar. The hucksters at Domain Registration Service SEO company charge $66/year.

Sometimes it will be an email, other times it will be an actual letter arriving in your mailbox, but the premise is always the same: You will receive some sort of notice that lets you know that your domain name (yourwebsite.com) is expiring soon and that you must act quickly to renew.
